Regret is a Scary Thing

Has the thought of you future ever scared you? I know this has happened to me a lot, especially since I got to college and even more this semester. Well recently I stumbled upon this wonderful little quote and it instantly made me feel more relaxed. This quote just seemed to put everything into perspective for me. With that being said I figured I would share it with you!
This quote could not be more spot on, of course change is always scary and we are always worried about failing. But the real thing that we should all be scared of is Regret. Think about it we all have those moments in our lives that we wish we had done things differently or tried something new but did not. Regret seems to stick with us longer than failure or fear. Therefore, I think we strive to stop living so much in fear but instead live in fear of regret. On a lighter note I hope you have a wonderful weekend! See you Monday!

P.S. Since I was talking about change I figured it would be nice to make a few changes on here.

Little Things

Everyone has those little things in life that just make them happy or make their day. No matter how my day has been going there is one thing that just always makes it a little better. This one thing is the Today show with Kathie Lee and Hoda. They are always just so happy and funny. I mean you really never know what is going to come out of their mouths! Also I love seeing all the different drinks that they are having every day. I have decided whenever I go back to New York I definitely want to go see them! I think out of the two Hoda is my favorite. There is just something about her that I really like. Besides E! News these women are the way I get all my news, whether it is celebrity or worldly. They are just so easy and enjoyable to watch. I just thought that I would share this little daily happy with all of you! Now that I have shared mine I would love to hear what some of your little daily happies are.

P.S.  Happies (made up word) the little things in life that bring you joy.

Masquerade

Halloween is coming up and I have already picked out my costume. While I am not going to reveal it to you yet, I will show one small accessory that will go with it.

The mask was the perfect color for my costume but it just needed a little extra character. Turning this into a simple DIY for Halloween!

Remember to stay tuned to see what my Halloween costume will be. But feel free to take guesses on what it may be!

Showstopper

If you are a fan of Keeping up with the Kardashians then you know that Bruce Jenner has four sons. Well one of those sons is married and he and his wife write music. Their names are Brandon and Leah Jenner. Well they have a few songs and videos you can buy on iTunes but my favorite has to be their new one called “Showstopper”. It is one of my new favorite songs to work out to. So I figured I would share it with you to start your weekend off right! Enjoy!! See you on Monday!!

Falling for Fall

Fall is my favorite season if you haven’t already noticed by. I love it because of the gorgeous weather that is brings. It also makes everything seem more calm and relaxing. People just seem to slow down and enjoy the leaves changing. Since the weather has turned a little cooler it has made me start to think about all the things I want to do this fall. I have a few things that I do only when the weather changes. Some of those things are that I buy tons of pumpkin scented candles and switch out my floral hand soap for a warmer scent. Also I break out all my boots and start making the seasonal changes in my closet. As you all know I have already updated the exterior of my house with Mums but one rule I have when it comes to decorating for Fall is that I will NOT buy pumpkins until it is October. To me Mums are for September while the addition of Pumpkins are for October! So come on October 1st I am ready to decorate for Halloween!  Well if you are not ready for Fall yet here are some pictures that might help you get ready for the change. Enjoy!

Gangnam Style

Gangnam Style!!! Eh Sexy Lady!! If you haven’t already heard of Psy then you are missing out. He has actually been around for over ten years as a Korean artist in his home country, but with his Gangnam Style he has hit it big in the US. He made this video for Gangnam Style only about 6o days ago and now he is number one on the iTunes chart! I absolutely love this video and the dance. Yes, I have actually purchased the song on iTunes. I know I am weird but the dance is just so fun to do. So if you missed him on the Today show Friday morning here it is:

If you are wondering what exactly Gangnam Style is well he defined it as “Dress Classy and Dance Cheesy”. Gangnam is the very rich area in Korean so he is poking fun at them by dressing nice but dancing completely ridiculous. How can you not love him? Here is the official Gangnam Style video. Enjoy!!

Here you can learn the dance here from Psy himself as he teaches the Today Show cast:

US Navy version of the video:

I hope everyone enjoyed! Now just up and Dance Cheesy! Have a wonderful Wednesday. See you again tomorrow!

Magazine Heaven

I absolutely love to shop at Target and I love home décor. Honestly, I think Jay questions if I love it more than I love him. Well Target is a close second. Anyway Target has started doing the Shops at Target. For those of you that do not know what I am talking about when I say that the Shops at Target. This is when they feature four very successful and trendy stores with lower priced stuff for the Target customer. When I saw the home décor items from Patch NYC I thought I had died and gone to heaven. They featured a lot of black, gold, and white (which I am obsessed with right now) in very classic updated pieces.

When I saw this black and gold classic magazine holder I knew I had to have it! Especially since it was only $34.99!! I mean DIE!! I knew exactly where I would put it.

I believe it is a gorgeous new addition to my newly redecorated room in Jackson. So if you haven’t been into Target recently I suggest you go check it out and maybe you will find something you love just like I did! See you again tomorrow!

Stuffed Bell Peppers

I had some ground meat that I needed to cook but I wanted something healthy at the same time and not just a hamburger. I stumbled upon these Stuffed Bell Peppers on Skinnytaste.com.  Once I saw these I knew this was the recipe I wanted to make. The ingredients are also stuff that pretty much everyone already has so it is healthy and inexpensive. How much better can it get? Well just wait…

What You Need:
one pound of lean chopped turkey meat
1 clove of garlic (minced)
¼ onion (minced)
1 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro or parsley
1 tbsp garlic cumin powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
salt to taste
3 large red bell peppers
1 cup fat free chicken broth
¼ cup tomato sauce
1 ½ cups cooked rice (white or brown)
olive oil cooking spray
¼ cup reduced fat shredded cheese (your pick on type)
tin foil for covering
What I Added:
1 can of black beans
1 small can of corn

What To Do:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Spray a little olive oil cooking spray into a medium to large size sauté pan, heat over a med. flame
Add your garlic, onion, and cilantro to pan
Let it sauté for about 2 minutes
Add the meat and season with the garlic powder, cumin powder, and salt (to taste of course)
Brown the meat for a few minutes just until the meat is cooked completely
Make sure to be cooking your rice in a separate pot because it usually takes about ten minutes for that
Add ¼ cup of tomato sauce and ½ cup of chicken broth to meat
Now let it simmer for about 5 minutes
Heat up corn and black beans in a small pot
Combine the meat (I drained off most of the excess oil), corn and black beans, and rice together
Cut the bell peppers in half length wise (wash and remove seeds)
Place in a baking dish and fill with the meat and rice mixture

Pour the rest of the chicken broth into the bottom of the baking dish (1/2 cup)
Cover with foil and bake in oven for 35 minutes
Remove and cover with cheese to melt
Enjoy!!

This recipe is not only healthy and inexpensive but it is FILLING. We each were only able to eat one. Now, I know some of you may not be a fan of bell peppers but even if you are not you should give it a try. Jay (my boyfriend) really does not even like bell peppers and he really liked this recipe because the chicken broth in the baking dish makes the bell peppers very soft. It was very delicious and it tasted like a Mexican dish so if you are craving Mexican try this!  Hope you Enjoy!!

Week/Weekend Favorites

I usually do this post on Fridays but I am just looking forward to this weekend so much that I decided I would do it a little early. This week started off a little ruff with an exam on Tuesday. After that I decided to treat myself to a little purchase at Deep South Pout.

I have wanted one of these necklaces for a while but just haven’t bought one yet. But when I saw this one in Maroon I knew I had to have it! I literally drove over there right after they posted the image of it on Instagram because I knew it would sell out fast.

Wednesday night was my weekly beauty regimen night! I love having a nice relaxing night to do my nails and a conditioning clay mask. Trust me there will be a post sometime next week about my weekly beauty regimens.

I absolutely cannot wait to get home to Jackson to see this cute baby! I love and miss him so much. I cannot wait to get home to him because he just lies on my bed for hours when I am home. I mean how can you not miss this sweet face.

I have been missing my reformer so much. Now I will not actually be teaching classes this weekend so I will be there to take a class. I really cannot wait I have missed reformer Pilates so much. My body is really craving it.

Of course this weekend will consist of a little shopping. Some shopping for home décor and stuff for upcoming DIYs. Then you know I will have to do a little clothing and jewelry shopping! Also the decision on whether to keep the black booties was a unanimous yes to keep them!! Thank you to all of you for the help on the decision I knew I could count on y’all to help me.

I hope you all had a great week and hopefully a wonderful weekend!

Questionable Booties

As you all know I mentioned in my Fall Trend #5 post last week Booties are back in style again this fall (link here)! With that being said I decided I need a few more pairs to add to the ones I already had. I saw these two cute pairs and decided I needed to have them. But as everyone knows everything looks good online but when you get it sometimes it just isn’t as cute. Well, I really like one pair but I am questioning the other pair. I need some opinions because Jay thought they were ugly but he is a guy and as everyone knows they don’t always see fashion the same way as women do. That is why I am asking all of you to give me your feedback because I value all your opinions. Please HELP me decide what to do return them or keep them??

These are the ones I really like! I am for sure keeping these because I already have some black ones that are similar. Get ready to judge because here comes the ones I need your opinion on.

I ordered these because I figured they would be stylish with a skirt and tights (like below) or colored skinnies.

Alright ladies and gentlemen tell me what you think. Keep or Return??

P.S.  To give your opinion just simply leave a comment below.
