Shout-out to my Hometown

This week the ever fabulous blog DesignSponge featured my hometown of Jackson, Mississippi. In the past few years Jackson has been growing and improving. I am starting to become more proud of the southern town that I grew up in. I absolutely loved their feature and cannot wait to go home this weekend to check out some of the places featured. Truthfully, even though I am from there the list contained some places I have yet to check out. This makes it fun to kind of rediscover my hometown! I have to give a HUGE shout-out to a fellow classmate of mine from the Jackson Academy class of 2010 - Avery Nejam. This girl is one of the most creative people I know and I am so proud of her for already starting a business! Y'all check this girl out! Let me end by saying the biggest thanks to DesignSponge for the feature from a Jacksonian. Check it out here!

Peeping into Spring

Whether it is crop tops, cut-out dress, or even perforated shoes the trend this spring is all about letting a little skin peep through. Now I love this trend because I feel like it has a 70's feel to it and can be done in a sexy yet classic way. I plan to entertain this trend this spring. I have already purchased a few crop tops and cut-out dresses but the only fear I have for this trend is people not remembering the basic fashion rules. The major one being that you should only show a little skin and not bare it all. Ladies we all know that if we are going to wear a revealing low cut top then the rest of our body should be fairly covered up. I mean we have all seen or known that girl that just wants to bare it all and hey I am proud of the self confidence you have but truthfully that never looks good on anyone. Anyway, I love this trend but I would love to know your stance on it, so what do you think flaunt it or make it disappear?

Belated Birthday

I am so sorry that I have been gone from here since Thursday. Well that was actually my 23rd birthday so I have been busy studying for tests and then celebrating it this past weekend. I just wanted to thank my friends and family for making this birthday the best one yet! My friends even planned a small surprise party for me and I was so elated and shocked as you can see from the picture below. I loved all the gifts and love that I received and this truly was the best birthday yet! Some of the presents I received was some spending money, a Meyer Lemon tree, a big Jambox, and some clothes. I bet you are thinking the lemon tree sounds so random well in a way it is. I decided that I really wanted one for my birthday this year! I think they are very pretty and I also like lemons so why not owe one! Now lets just hope I will be successful in growing it!

BirchBox

It is finally here! My March Birchbox came in the mail while I was in Dallas. I had been burning to know what this month's box would hold. This box was all about Spring, as I like to look at it a fresh new start with new products sort of like Spring Cleaning. This box had Beauty Protector protect and detangle hair spray, Coola tinted SPF 30, Gilchrist & Soames London Collection body lotion, Harvey Prince Cherie Blossom perfume, Tea Forte minteas, and a little dark chocolate treat from Ghirardelli. I cannot want to try the minteas because they are packed with organic green tea and herbs that give you an instant pick-me-up. I hope your box was filled with joy and products for a fresh new look!

Dallas Part II

During my vacation to Dallas, Texas I made sure to really take it all in and see lots of different sites. I went to Katy Trail, Klyde Warren Park, Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, West Village, Main Street Garden, Thanksgiving Square, and downtown Dallas. A few places that I ate were Katy Trail Ice House, Urban Modern Mexican Kitchen, and Gleneagles Country Club. I would have to say my favorite parts of the trip were spending time with my cousins and touring their hometown. They have made me really want to move there after college. It is still southern but in the process of really growing. Hope you enjoy the rest of my trip! See you tomorrow!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! I hope you are wearing green so you don't get pinched today. I celebrated this past Saturday at the St. Patty's Day Parade in Jackson. If you didn't already celebrate then go enjoy some green beer! See you tomorrow.

Spring Break Plans

Well this is the post that was supposed to be on here Wednesday but there was an issue and I wasn't able to tend to it until that night but anyway better late than never. Today is the start of my last spring break as a college student or possibly ever for that matter. This year instead of going to the beach I will be heading to Dallas for the first part of the week and then spending that later half in Jackson where I will be attending the St. Patrick's Day Parade with my dearest friends. I unfortunately will be taking off the whole week from Candy Coated Prada also. I will be sure to bring back lots and lots of pictures from Dallas and the St. Patty's Day Parade! I have a few things already planned that I want to make sure to do while I am in Dallas visiting my amazing cousins. They don't quite know the things I have planned but I believe they will want to participate! One of the things though will be to possibly tour Medical Schools in the Dallas area. That's right my fellow readers in case I forgot to update you I have decided to take the plunge and apply for medical school instead of physical therapy school. With that being said y'all be sure to check back on Monday, March 17! See you soon dear readers!
