New Closet

This week's new home update is my closet now that I finally got it rearranged and color coded. I am so glad I had time to get around to organizing it because it has made finding clothes for work much easier. Basically closet organization leads to quick effortless mornings! Here is your look inside:

New Desk Look

As I have mentioned I have recently moved from Starkville back to Jackson. While I am still getting things all moved in and just how I like them but I have finally gotten my desk in order. My desk was one of the first tasks I knew I had to tackle and complete since this is my headquarters for this blog. Now that it is back in working order it has made me very happy! I love my new cork backing because it allows me to place quotes and magazine clippings that inspire me, plus it allows me to add pops of color which can be changed out easily. I hope you enjoy this new addition and first glimpse into my new space. There will be more to come as I get more settled in! See you tomorrow!

If Walls Could Talk

About two months ago I mentioned I was getting ready to assemble a gallery wall for my house. Well unfortunately that didn't happen there but it has finally come to life in my new place! I am still in the process of getting things moved in but I am so happy to have my gallery wall up. I wanted mine to have personality and not just be a collection of pictures. I made sure that mine had images that represent Mississippi State University and my initials to make mine more personal. Along with being personal I wanted it to add pops of color to the room and I believe that it has successfully done so. Anyways I hope you like it as much as I do and I promise there will be more features to come a little later! See you tomorrow!

Mozart wasn't too interested in the process so he did his usual thing and stole my socks. I think someone just wanted attention.

Weekly Favorites

- This week was filled with beautiful blooms thanks to the warmer weather! -

- Finally having a little more free time this week to catch up on my blogging and Pinterest. -

- Doing a little shopping at Aspen Bay. This is my favorite store in Starkville! Even if I don't buy anything I love to visit to see all the creative ways they decorate the store. -

- Getting around to working on my gallery wall that I hope to have up after this weekend! -

- Hopefully the weather will be nice and the rain will hold off so I can attend the Micro-fest in the Cotton District. -

Shout-out to my Hometown

This week the ever fabulous blog DesignSponge featured my hometown of Jackson, Mississippi. In the past few years Jackson has been growing and improving. I am starting to become more proud of the southern town that I grew up in. I absolutely loved their feature and cannot wait to go home this weekend to check out some of the places featured. Truthfully, even though I am from there the list contained some places I have yet to check out. This makes it fun to kind of rediscover my hometown! I have to give a HUGE shout-out to a fellow classmate of mine from the Jackson Academy class of 2010 - Avery Nejam. This girl is one of the most creative people I know and I am so proud of her for already starting a business! Y'all check this girl out! Waiting on Martha

Recently, I discovered this adorable and chic blog called Waiting on Martha . After I found the blog I realized that it was also an online store. Refinished Bar

Around this time last year I bought a piece of furniture that I have been using as a little bar over the last year. Well the only color options of the piece was black or red. As you can tell from past home post red does not go with my decor at all so I went with the black. The only problem was that the space was small and poorly lit so the black bar just became an eye sore. This weekend I decided that I would distress the piece to lighten it up. I hope you enjoy the new lighter look of my bar!

Arranging for a Gallery Wall

As we all know a new year is all about changing and growing. I have been wanting to do a few house updates and one of them is to add a gallery wall. I love gallery walls because they do not have to just be paintings but can really be a wonderful way to show off your own personal style to guests. I have already decided where mine will be placed in my house.
