Shout-out to my Hometown

This week the ever fabulous blog DesignSponge featured my hometown of Jackson, Mississippi. In the past few years Jackson has been growing and improving. I am starting to become more proud of the southern town that I grew up in. I absolutely loved their feature and cannot wait to go home this weekend to check out some of the places featured. Truthfully, even though I am from there the list contained some places I have yet to check out. This makes it fun to kind of rediscover my hometown! I have to give a HUGE shout-out to a fellow classmate of mine from the Jackson Academy class of 2010 - Avery Nejam. This girl is one of the most creative people I know and I am so proud of her for already starting a business! Y'all check this girl out! Let me end by saying the biggest thanks to DesignSponge for the feature from a Jacksonian. Check it out here!

Weekend Favorites

- Going to Mistletoe Marketplace with my mother and grandmother Friday night to do a little shopping for Christmas gifts -

- Eating supper at Local 463 with Jay, his sister, and his dad to celebrate his dad's birthday! Jay and I both got the Redfish463 which was amazing, I would recommend it to anyone planning to go. Also, we had to get dessert to celebrate his birthday so I picked the Pound cake that was topped with lemon curd, whipped cream, and fresh strawberries! But honestly everything on the menu is to dead for here! -

- Sunday my mom and I stopped by Callaway's Home and Garden for their Christmas Open House to see all their wonderfully decorated Christmas trees. I have decided I am going to start decorating for Christmas early this year, I mean why not? -

- Lastly, the weekend ended with a great 49-17 win for the New Orleans Saints against the Dallas Cowboys. WHO DAT!! -

Country Pumpkin

The Country Pumpkins is a pumpkin patch that is located in Caledonia, Ms. As Jay and I found out it is more than just a pumpkin patch, it offers hayrides, bonfires, tire swings, and a corn maze. Had we known there was going to be so many different activities to experience then we would have set aside more time than we did. All we really had time for was to pick out the perfect pumpkins to carve from all the different assorted ones they offer but I insisted that we try the corn maze. I had never done a corn maze so of course we had to try it. We kind of cheated and took a picture of the map before we went in. Since, we did the corn maze we ran out of time to carve the pumpkins before the football game Saturday so we had to put that off until Sunday night! Carving pumpkins has been a yearly tradition since jay and I started dating three years ago. This year I carved Frankenstein while Jay carved some Spooky words into his. If anyone was looking for a wonderful fall day in North Mississippi I would suggest driving to the Country Pumpkins in Caledonia, Mississippi.
