Pleased to meet you

I was very pleased to receive my Birchbox this month. Of course I always look forward to it every month but this month it came with a bonus! I have really enjoyed the deep purple eye liner because I was considering trying out this color and now I have fallen in love. This month's box was themed rainy days and we have definitely had our fair share of those this month in Mississippi. Those rainy days have given me a little more time inside to try out all these goodies. See you tomorrow with another sweet treat recipe!

1. Number 4 High Performance Hair Care - Clarifying Shampoo
2. Sumitas - Color Contrast Eyeliner in Jamun (Deep Purple)
3. Color Club - Gala's Gems Collection in Heirloom Pearls
4. KIND Snacks - Healthy Grains Bar in Maple Pumpkin Seeds with Sea Salt
5. Harvey Prince - Yogini
6. (Bonus) Number 4 High Performance Hair Care - The Reconstructing Masque

Peeping into Spring

Whether it is crop tops, cut-out dress, or even perforated shoes the trend this spring is all about letting a little skin peep through. Now I love this trend because I feel like it has a 70's feel to it and can be done in a sexy yet classic way. I plan to entertain this trend this spring. I have already purchased a few crop tops and cut-out dresses but the only fear I have for this trend is people not remembering the basic fashion rules. The major one being that you should only show a little skin and not bare it all. Ladies we all know that if we are going to wear a revealing low cut top then the rest of our body should be fairly covered up. I mean we have all seen or known that girl that just wants to bare it all and hey I am proud of the self confidence you have but truthfully that never looks good on anyone. Anyway, I love this trend but I would love to know your stance on it, so what do you think flaunt it or make it disappear?

Ombre Hair Update

The Ombre hairstyle has been spotted on many celebrities. If you are not sure what ombre hair is, well it is basically when it starts out darker at the top and fades to a lighter color at the ends. I have been debating on getting my hair done like this for awhile. The main reason I have been waiting is because I can really only dye my hair in the fall/winter months because if I do it any sooner the sun turns it back to how it was before. In case you didn't already know for the past few years I have been dying my hair dark brown every fall. I am completely obsessed with dark, rich, chocolaty brunette hair. Well, today I am taking the plunge and going for the Ombre trend. Below are examples of the color or overall look that my wonderful hair stylist Sherri is going to be going for! Happy Wednesday!

P.S. I would like to apologize for being absent for two days. All day Monday I was studying for a big test in my Neural Control of Human Movement class. Then, unfortunately yesterday I was running around my house rushing to get ready for work at 6:30am and ended up breaking my little toe. I have broken this toe before and it will be completely fine just a little painful for right now, but don't you worry though I am back to blogging daily!

September Issues

I look forward to these issues all year long. These are the ones that set the precedent for the rest of the year. With that being said year after year they get bigger and bigger. This year I believe they are at their biggest. The Vogue really is the size of a small textbook and has just about as many pages as one too. No matter how big they get I will always buy them. Fashion Magazines are one of my guilty little pleasures! All I need are these, a wonderful smelling candle, a glass of wine, and my comfy bed or couch. That is my equation to a perfect night in by myself!
I am more than thrilled that some of the trends that were big last year are making another appearance this season. The one I am most thrilled about is Oxblood or as we refer to it here in Starkville, Ms. Maroon! As a Mississippi State student this makes it very easy to find dresses and accessories in the color. The other two trends I am happy to see again are Leather and Fur. I am slowly investing in some statement fall pieces and plan on getting more after flipping through the gorgeous pages of these magazines.

Fall Trend #4 : Denim

I absolutely love all the different denim trends! They really have made denim in every single color now. Along with the colored denim, pattern is also making a huge impact this Fall. From polka dots to snakeskin they really have experimented with many different patterns. If you are scared to try the patterns go ahead and play around with color. Remember this is just Fall Trend #4 so be sure scroll down to see #5.

Fall Trend #5: Booties

These have been trying to make a big impact for the past few years. I feel like this really is the year of the Bootie. I love all the different styles of booties. Along with the different styles, I am really intrigued by all the interesting daring colors they are coming in. I am a little scared to try a blue bootie but I think it looks amazing when done right. I have flats, wedges and heeled ones I mean I really love this trend! I just think they look so chic and edgy.

I hope you have enjoyed all these different Fall trends that were inspired by Fashions Night Out! On that note let me end this post by saying have a wonderful weekend  and I will see you again on Monday!

Fall Trend #3: Layering

In a way layering is always in but this year it is a big trend. I am so ready for it to get chilly outside so I can start layering. Layering is very simple to do it just takes a little thought and practice. It is so easy to take a simple casual light tee and skinnies to a new fashionably chic level just by adding a few different layers. I love this trend because it is fun to play with different patterns and colors. Now the weather just needs to get colder so I can enjoy this trend! Here are some layering looks that inspire me and that I love! Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by! Remember to check back in tomorrow for another Fall Trend!

Fall Trend #2: Leather

Leather to me has always seemed very S&M looking. But recently I have come to love this trend. I have two leather jackets (black and tan) and a pair of tan leather shorts. I just need the weather to cool off because when its 95 degrees outside leather is the last thing I would ever want to be in. This trend is pretty cool because it is not only black and brown leather but designers are playing with color when it comes to this trend. I feel like leather is an easy way to take a very casual look and make it more edgy and chic just by throwing on a little bit. But, trust me I completely understand if you are scared to try this trend but maybe take a tiny step and try a pair of leather gloves.

Fall Trend #1: Oxblood

Whether you called it oxblood, dark red, deep purple, or of course maroon, either way I love it! Of course the main reason I love this trend is because it makes it very simple to find cute and stylish maroon outfits. I mean what MSU student doesn’t love that. This color is so warm and cozy and a good change from just simple black for Fall/Winter. Also I am not only loving this color for women but it looks amazing and so fashion forward when wore by a man. From shoes to nails this color is literally everywhere. So if you are not like me and buying as much of this one color as you can, then give it a try on your nails or even some tights instead of just your basic black.
