SAE Paddy Murphy 2013

Flappers, Gangsters, and coffins oh my! Every year the fraternity SAE has a date party in honor of their long lost brother Paddy Murphy. Paddy Murphy was an SAE in the 1920's who was accidentally killed by another brother, ever since then they have a day to honor his death. This is probably one of the best date parties that they have all year. I  personally enjoy seeing all the girls dressed in flapper attire and the boys with their suits, suspenders, and slicked back hair. Happy Monday!

Well, we are off to New Orleans today! We are so excited to be going back there for formal this weekend. Along with getting all dressed up I am looking forward to good food like Jambalaya, Shrimp Po-Boys, and Beignets from Cafe Du Monde. I am also planning on doing a little shopping. The only downfall to this weekend will be that it is supposed to be raining the whole time. Wishing you all a happy weekend and I will see you again on Monday!

P.S. Follow me on Instagram to keep up with everything this weekend.

Long Awaited Arrival

Ladies and Gentlemen they have arrived! The two dresses that I ordered from Rent the Runway arrived yesterday. I ordered one Herve Leger (black) dress and one Haute Hippie (gold) dress. I tried on both and have decided to wear the gold Haute Hippie halter dress! I am slightly obsessed with it and cannot wait to wear it Saturday night in New Orleans for Jay's SAE Formal! Right now I am resisting the urge to post the two pictures that I took of me in the dress to send to my mom and friends to get their opinions but keep checking in on here or my Instagram account to see if I break and post it. Have a good day!

Counting Down the Days

This past weekend was pretty good but now I am counting down the days until Friday. This coming weekend Jay and I will be going down to New Orleans for his SAE Formal. This is our third year at formal and we cannot wait to get down there. We both really like New Orleans and always have a great time when we are there. I am also looking forward to Wednesday because that is when the dresses come in that I will be wearing for the formal. I have rented two Haute Hippie dresses from Rent the Runway for this coming weekend and I cannot wait to get them and try them on. Don't worry I will be posting more about these two dresses later this week. Have a Happy Monday!

Apologies

I am very sorry for not posting for a while. I wish it was because I was busy but unfortunately it was because for some reason my laptop has not been letting me run this site so I have not been able to post. Well now that I am home for the Thanksgiving holiday I will be able to post everyday since there are other computers here that will let me run this site. Anyway, it is so nice being home for the holiday even though it will be pretty busy. Last night, I went to see Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 2 with my mom. It was nice just having a little relaxing movie night on a Monday night. Tonight, I will be going out to eat with a couple of my girl friends for a little girls night. I will keep you informed about the rest of my week a little later. But before I end this is post I should catch you up on this past weekend! Friday night was Jay's SAE Semi-formal. Well I waited till the last minute to find a dress and ordered one online and had it overnighted and luckily it worked out perfectly!

A simple little black dress (LBD) always works for any occasion. I just needed to dress it up with some Kendra Scott earrings, strappy Nina heels, and of course a long winter coat because it was pretty chilly that night.

The night was very fun! A lot of dancing with friends! Then, Saturday the Bulldogs played the Arkansas Razorbacks and won 45-14 so it was a good day. Jay and I also got to visit with his aunt and uncle in the junction for a little tailgating since I will not see them for Thanksgiving. To end the weekend, Sunday I finally got my Christmas tree down from my attic and put it up but did not get around to getting the ornaments on it because I decided I might want some new ones to go along with the ones I already have. Which means decoration shopping over the Thanksgiving break! Sunday ended with me cooking dinner for Jay and I and us catching up on three weeks of the show Revolution that we have gotten hooked on. So all and all the weekend was very good and I know this week will be the same! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend too! See you again tomorrow I promise.
