Thankful

The holidays have been crazy busy so far at work. I have been having to work on time management more and it is starting to get easier to arrange time with family, friends, and jay recently. Sorry the blogging has slacked but I have found the way to have time for this again too! Life is going pretty well recently and I am very thankful for that and everyone in my life! Speaking of being thankful here is look back the Thanksgiving holiday this year then starting tomorrow I will be in full Christmas themed post!

Thanksgiving Dreams

As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches it makes me realize that I need to go ahead and get all the ingredients for the dishes I plan to make. I love looking at Pinterest and Instagram and seeing all the different holiday images so I decided to share a few of my favorites with you!

Neshoba County Fair

Saturday I was invited to stay at a friend's cabin for the night at the Neshoba County Fairgrounds. Now, I have always heard all about the fair but I have never been or had even thought about going. This is a huge tradition in the area of North Mississippi. The Neshoba County Fair has been called a huge house party. This is a week long event with rides, southern food, horse races, music, Heart of Dixie Triathlon and good times with lots of close friends and family. I am not sure that I would be completely into staying for a whole week but maybe a day or two would be fine. The thing I loved the most about the grounds was all the extremely colorful houses with bright lights. Each house really expressed how fun and outgoing each family is. Before I went, I read this wonderful article on the Neshoba County Fair written by the New York Times. That article can be found here. I hope you had a great weekend!

Newest Addition

Ladies and Gentlemen meet Benji. He is a three year old Shih Tzu that is the newest addition to our family. We adopted him for my grandmother and she could not be more thrilled to have him. They love each other already! Expect to see more pictures of this sweet boy especially when he meets my baby Mozart. Happy Thursday!!

Thanksgiving Recap

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving, I know I did. I started it off with a good two mile run with my running partner (Mozart).
Once I was done running it was time to start baking a dessert for lunch. I decided I would make a Crumb Topped Apple Slab Pie.
I had never made this before and I was so happy that everyone loved it! The recipe for this will be on here on Monday. The rest of the day was filled with family and food (lots of it). I think my family went a little over board on the amount of food this year.

Needless to say this Thanksgiving was very good! It was nice to get to see all of my family. See you Monday!

Important People

Since my life is all about having fun and being with friends I feel like I should introduce the main people in my life because I know they will all be mentioned throughout my blog! So here they are: First up is Jay the boyfriend!

We have almost been together now for two years. We both attended the same school pre-k thru 12th grade and never even thought about dating. then we both got up to MSU and starting dating on October 4, 2010 (our freshman year). He is crazy and very outgoing. Two things I am not. But the best thing about him is that he makes me try things I never would have thought of doing! Next up is Taybel
Taybel

Taylor

Anabel

Okay I know what your thinking Taybel, what kind of weird southern name is that? It’s not, southerners aren’t that crazy well most of us aren’t at least. Anyway Taybel is Taylor and Anabel. My two best friends! Taylor is a crazy fun girl! We met during our freshman year at MSU and have been friends ever since! Now Anabel, wow this girl I have known since I was a little kid but we didn’t really start hanging out again until 10th grade. Now we are always talking or hanging out! By the way she has a blog (mscreativequeen.blogspot.com) too and is an amazing artist, who is doing some paintings for me to go in my newly updated room. pictures of those later of course! Last is the family:
Daddy
Bryan
Alex & riette
Mom

Mozart now and as a puppy
I love both of my parents very much but I mean what southern girl doesn’t love her parents! My mom and I have gotten pretty close now that I’m older. I love that we are because we can talk about a lot of things! My dad is a great man and I wouldn’t change anything about the way that he raised me. Thanks to him I am a very independent and hardworking person. My older brother is Alex and he is married to Riette. If her name seems a little different that is because she is from South Africa. Alex is amazing he can fix anything! I mean it ANYTHING. Bryan is my younger brother. While he does get on my nerves a lot I really do love him! Lastly is my baby! MOZART! He is a lab/pitbull mix. I know you are thinking pitbull but he really is the sweetest thing! I love him so much!
