With Love From Mississippi

This past weekend my amazing and fabulous cousin Morgan finally found the perfect apartment for her in Dallas, Texas. I could not be more thrilled for her and cannot wait to get over there to see it in person once it is all decorated. I decided since that may be a little while I should send her a surprise gift box from Mississippi filled with love and confetti of course! This surprise move in box consisted of a Thimblepress Confetti Push Pop, Thimblepress Cue the Confetti Card, Small Aspen Bay Volcano scented Candle, and last but not least a Spotted Matchbox with Pink Matches from Waiting on Martha! I am so glad that she loved everything inside of it! Now that she has opened it I can finally share it with you! See you tomorrow!

Aspen Bay Re-purposed DIY part 2

Yesterday I showed you the little Succulent garden I made out of one of my old cleaned out Aspen Bay candle vases. Nothing went to waste in this two part DIY because it was all recycled into something new. I have had a lot of used Aspen Bay candles that I had been keeping to eventually clean out and reuse the jars. Well Saturday Jay suggested why not melt down all the old wax and create one new candle in a different container. What can I say he had a brilliant idea and I couldn't wait to get started. I found the concrete planter I used for this project at Target and immediately started melting down all my candles in the oven. I set my oven as low as it would go and once they were melted I poured them into the planter until I had a full new candle. This was an easy and quick DIY leaving me over the moon with the results!

Succulent Gardening

Recently I have fallen in love with Succulents. They are the perfect indoor plant because they retain water and only need indirect light. Which also makes them perfect when you have a few up coming vacations planned! Maybe you have noticed that I have started buying more and more plants for my home which lead me to believe I need some leafy greens for inside. Therefore cue the Succulents! One of my favorite things about these plant is the bounty of different colors and variations they come in. I have seen these plants planted many different ways but I wanted to mix in up a little bit and be able to see every bit of these beauties. I figured an old cleaned out Aspen Bay candle would make the perfect home for them. Also, if you are wondering what I did with the remaining wax check back tomorrow for the second part of this Aspen Bay Re-purposed DIY. See you then!
